Hip Pathology in young patients
Hip pathology in young patients is surprisingly common. In children this could be DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip), a Perthes hip or a slipped femoral epiphysis in the young and the adolescent age group. In the age groups in the second and third decade we see FAI (femoro-acetabular impingement), labral tears and stress fractures. A diagnosis is made by taking a careful history, examining your hip and performing relevant investigations (usually X-rays).
