I feel more positive regarding my future fitness and I was thrilled to be able to cycIe the 150-mile ride to Paris. Thank you Mr Bourke and Mr Kucheria for assuring my future mobility - and freedom.
I am walking properly for the first time in 18 months. I have some stiffness in my leg and the odd twinge but this is minor compared to the difficulty I previously had walking. The robotic procedure seemed to leave me with much less pain than I had expected after surgery. I have been very happy and relieved with the whole process and the care I received before and after the operation.
I was referred to Mr Kucheria at BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital. He recommended the new technique of robotic-assisted total hip replacement surgery. I managed to walk to the operating theatre in pain and woke in recovery about 1.5 hours later completely pain free of pain. I was back on my feet the same day, was crutch free within three weeks and walking without any discomfort after five weeks.
